The drum spins during the wash cycle. What keeps it from turning? The drum tills to one side. Is it a spring problem?
Answer Hello Jeff,
The bottom of the transmission has a bearing made on it that only turns one direction. If the unit spins during agitation, the one way bearing has failed and the transmission 5304465118 has to be replaced to correct the issue. The tub tilting is a different issue. This is either one or more weak springs 134885900, 134886600, 131373900 or a bad snubber 5308002385.
How do I get the spring off?
Answer Hello Mike. The easiest way to remove the springs 134885900 is to take some pennys or nickles and insert them between the coils of the spring. This will spread the springs and allow you to remove them. Hope this helps.
Realised on reassembly that the springs on the washer are not same leignth, one short, two longer. Where does the short one go?
Answer Hi Quinn. The three vertical springs are not the same. The springs are identified by 2- of them being painted. The spring without the paint goes on the left rear across from the motor. Thank you!
