I have a Frigidaire electric cooktop model number RB-131L-CH (circa 1972). My wife was cooking with it the other night, heard a pop near the heating element controls, and now the red light (that only used to be lit when power was applied to one of the elements) is now continuously on. I inspected the circuit connecting the four heating element switches and saw no obvious damage or disconnection, so I assume something broke in one of the switches. It's anybody's guess whether its the large element switch or the small element switch. While I'd rather stick to switches closer to the original, a universal switch may be wiser in this situation. Do you think the problem here is a bad switch? Could you provide part numbers for the appropriate original switch replacements for the large (switch Model 72713, Style 7521245, 10-11.5A) & small (switch Model 71274, Style 7532999, 4.4-5.5A) as well as the appropriate universal replacement switch? Thanks.

Thank you for the prompt answer on black burner grates. I would also like to know if I can order replacement drip pans for the same range but also in black. They measure aprox. 16 3/4" by 8 1/4". Thank you for your help.

I need to replace the switches for front left and front right. All I run into are universal switches for these, I am not happy with the construction of these. Where can I find OEM parts that dont have a shaft that needs to be cut? Do they exist? The originals I removed were not universals, they were factory parts.

We have a Frigidaire Stove where the right burner only gets hot you cannot lower the temperature. This plate has 2 heating elements but it don't matter if I use one or two elements on that heating plate (large right front) you cannot lower the temp. I think I need the part 54A the control switch but not sure. I sure would appreciate your help. Harald

I have a Frigidaire electric stove. The dial on the front left switch will not control the low temps, only the high ones. I believe I need the surface unit switch kit, but I'm not certain of the Part number. Please advise.

I have a Kenmore range where the two large surfaces of the cooktop don't turn off. Which part should I replace the Surface Element Switch 316436000 or do I need the Surface Unit Switch Kit 5303935086? What is the difference between these items? Does it matter if it is the large surface or the small surface I'm having an issue with?

The left front burner on this Frigidaire RBS137C cook-top becomes too hot when turned on. Evidently it is not being regulated by whichever part sets the cooking temperature. Please tell me which part I need (I think it's the switch/control) and give me the ordering info. Thanks much and Happy New Year! Phil

I have a kenmore glass top range and the two large elements on the cook top have runaway problem. My wife will turn one of them on, and it will funtion properly for awhile. You can see the element pulsate as the temperature is being regulated, but then all of the sudden the element will come on and not turn off. It like it has been turned to high but it hasn't. Most of the time you can turn it off and back on and it will work for awhile. I once had to go to the breaker panel and turn off the oven breaker because the thing wouldn't shut off. After that we removed the knob so it couldn't be used on that burner. Thanks for the help.

I need to order a surface unit switch kit. Is this something I can install myself or will I need to have an appliance repairman take care of it? I don't know how to get underneath to replace it...the plate holding the knobs doesn't lift up.
