Where is the thermostat located?
Answer Hello Cb. The thermostat is located in the control panel of the unit. It has a temperature probe that goes down the back of the unit and into the oven. If you pull the range out and remove the back panel you access the thermostat 316032408 for the unit. Hope this helps.
My Kenmore electric range, model 790.91011200, when set to broil, the broil element doesn't get hot but the bake element does. I suspect that the thermostat, part AP2124414, is defective so that it stays in the bake mode. Can the thermostat be easily fixed?
Answer Hello Bob. The thermostat 316032408 is located in the control panel. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit and remove the back panel off the range. Then remove the knob from the thermostat and remove the screws holding the thermostat in place. Disconnect the wires from the old thermostat and install them onto the new thermostat. Remove the old temperature sensor from the oven and install the new sensor in the oven. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
