When I turn on a bake cycle it seems to be running with a slight smell of gas while it is burning. It also smells like gas after the bake cycle is ended. Could this be caused by the safety valve closing too slowly or improperly? Could the safety valve not be closing all the way or is this an issue with the regulator?

Our GE gas wall oven won't light (oven nor broiler). I'm assuming the ignighter is bad and plan to get a new one from you. I removed the oven floor and have access to the burner and ignighter but the connection plug is behind the sheetmetal framework. Do I have to pull the oven from the wall to access the ignighter connection plug?

Hi ! My wife's Frigidaire stove - PLGF390DCB - is acting up. We had some patio work done last June, and the propane line was crimped outside. Since then, the oven has taken about five minutes to light; when it does light, it takes a while to get up to temp, and there is an occasional "POOF" sound, followed by an unpleasant odor (carbon?). My handyman neighbor replaced the crimped gas line to the stove, and the connective valve, but that did not remedy the situation. He thinks it may be the safety valve. Any comments/advice would be most appreciated ! (Stove top burners work fine, btw).

Just got stove out of storage was set up for butane I changed out orifices to use nat gas. Found while testing oven that broiler lights but top inside oven does not (at all) tried holding door safety switch and manually lighting, didn't work (no gas) also tried while on bake removing gas line to see if any gas was coming out of safety valve and found it was not. There is evidence of mice so I have it narrowed down to 2 things either bad s-valve or from what I read as a response to another Q on this sight is it possible that a mouse has chewed through control or igniter wire (blue wire) ???

I have a GE wall oven JGRS06BEJ1BB. The oven kept getting a delayed igniton in the oven. So the gas was flowing and then igniting with a loud bang. I installed a new ignitor but the problem still exists. The gas will flow even before the ignitor has a chance to fully glow. Could the issue be a bad safety valve?

My stove smells like gas when not in use, but when the oven is lit the smell goes away. I have a friend that works in gas and oil. He checked it and said it was the gas safty valve item 17. What do you think?

While shutting the storage drawer, my husband shoved a metal pizza pan onto the wiring in the bottom of the oven. A white wire is burnt, but not disconnected, and we smelled plastic burning and saw some smoke coming up from the bottom. Now the oven and broiler won't light, but everything else woeks fine. What could this be?

The broiler lights fine but the bake burner will light sometimes, sometimes not, then not lite at all. I took the lower shield off try to lite which it would light everytime with a light tap on the valve. I think it's the valve, but would like your opinion before purchasing one. Thanks.

My oven bake burner lights sometimes and sometimes not. When lite it has a low flame and you can always hear/smell a small amount of gas each time I turn the bake cycle on. I replaced the igniter and still no luck. My amp reading is 3.4 at the safety value. Could it be the safety value that is defective?
