WATER DISPENSER IS SLOW RUNNING, SLOW TO SHUT OFF, SPURTS WITH OUT ACTUATING.
Answer Bill, Slow running, dripping, or slow to actuate or deactivate dispensers are usually due to a clogged filter wfcb Low water pressure to the refrigerator. It,s normally not due to a water valve 218832401 issue, but can be. You'll need to remove and check the filter, disconnect the water supply line from the water valve, and flush it and check for good water flow, check all the coupling fittings, water tank and tubing for cracks, loose fittings, etc. first.
no water coming out of dispenser i have good prssure at the filter and have changed the filter i have removed the water tank and no water is flowing from the line coming to the tank. I removed the fliter and blew air to the line at the tank going to the filter and seems to be clear but when putting the filter back together no water comes out the line at the tank I need help
Answer Jim, Based on your post information, your issue is in the filter housing 218893201 and 2 218518700 " no water is flowing from the line coming to the tank".
" The water line from the primary water valve (single coil valve) goes behind the trim located on the right side of the inside food compartment liner to the water filter. From the water filter the line goes to the water tank, then to the secondary water valve (two coil valve). The two coil valve dispenses water to the ice maker and to the dispenser in the door." Thanks
My ice maker works great but the water dispenser runs so slow it takes about two minutes to fill a glass. What would cause this?
Answer Hello John. You want to check and make sure the water filter wfcb is good on the unit. This can cause the water to slow down on filling if bad. If the filter is good, and the water pressure to the unit is good, you will need to replace the water valve 218832401 on the unit.
When I actuate the water dispenser everything sounds fine except I get no water.
The (filter) cover/bowl fills with water but does not reach the dispenser. I replaced the filter (and "o" ring) with new but the same problem exists.
Answer Hello Jack. You need to remove the water line from the bottom of the freezer door. Then press the pad and see if water comes out there. If so, the water line is frozen inside the freezer door and will need to be thawed out. To do this, open the door on the unit and use a hair dryer, moving it up and down the door, and thaw the lines. Be careful not to melt the inside of the door when doing this. If you are not comfortable doing this, you can move the food inside the unit, and unplug the unit for about 6 hours with the doors open and thaw the line out.
Ice maker makes a lot of noise when filling. Appears there is ice in the fill tube but not clogging it completely. What do I need to do?
Answer BillZee, You will be fine once you de ice the fill tube( a hair dryer works pretty good) and replace the fill valve. The noise and the ice in the fill tube, indicate a weak leaking valve solenoid or diaphram. Thanks and good Luck
Ice maker water inlet slowly drips water into the inlet tube and freezes and clogs inlet. Could the problem be the water valve?
Answer Hello James. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve 218832401 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
How to check a dual water valve going to the ice maker? The chilled water works but no water is going to the ice maker. How offen does a ice maker cycle?
Answer Hello Tim. The icemaker cycles when the temperature reaches a certain point in the icemaker. Make sure the fill tube is not froze. Turn off the icemaker for about 6 hours. Push the arm down on the icemaker and test for power to the water valve 218832401. The icemaker should cycle right away being turned off for a few hours. If there is power there, and the water does not come in, and the fill tube is not frozen, replace the water valve. Hope this helps.
