I have a Frigidaire FRS24ZSG side by side. The ice maker is not making ice. Ice maker motor is working. I have manually poured water in the tray and I do get ice cubes. The water flow coming out of the dispenser is very slow. Which Water Valve do I need to replace?

Answer Hello Matt. You can install 218658000 if yours is 1/4". If it is 3/4", you will order part number 218698900.

The chilled water dispenser leaks water after use. It fills the catch tray and trickles down the door. The water has a lot of minerals that have stained the door. Should I suspect the water valve?

Answer Dan, Yes, The water valve 218832401 would be the most likely cause of the dripping issue. This would be caused by the water valve not fully closing and would need to be replaced.

I see two 'water valves' listed for my refrigerator. I need the one which controls chilled water to the door dispenser. The one for the freezer is working fine. Which one(s) are compatible? Thanks for your help. Dave

Icemaker stop working unless I manually put water in it. I replace the water fillter and still no ice but do get water off the door. Being that I am getting water from the door I check the line from the water valve to ice maker and the line is clear, no ice or water at all.

Answer Hello Willie. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Ice cubes keep getting stuck with only a few cubes being made. Water coming out of dispenser to drink is coming out very slow also. Water pressure at the sink is good though. Was thinking maybe the water valve?

Answer Jason, With having the water at the dispenser being slow and few ice cubes being made you should first try to replace water filter. If this does not correct then a new filter head would more than likely be the issue.

Water tube going to ice maker is frozen and every time I defrost it, it freezes up again immediately. Do I need to replace the water valve and which one do I replace? 218859701 or 218832401?

Answer Hello Tom. Yes, you need to order and replace the water valve 218832401. Make sure the temp inside the freezer is around 0° as well.

I have a Frigidaire SXS refrigerator. The water dispenser quit in middle of dispensing water. The ice maker is good and the pump is working when I press the water lever.

Answer Hello Jody, The issue on a Frigidaire unit is most likely the 218835701. There are small "tabs" that the micro switches clip onto that have probably broken.

Answer Bill, Slow running, dripping, or slow to actuate or deactivate dispensers are usually due to a clogged filter wfcb Low water pressure to the refrigerator. It,s normally not due to a water valve 218832401 issue, but can be. You'll need to remove and check the filter, disconnect the water supply line from the water valve, and flush it and check for good water flow, check all the coupling fittings, water tank and tubing for cracks, loose fittings, etc. first.

I'm getting low water pressure at the dispenser and not making ice very well? I have taken the filter off and get good pressure there. I've also put a new filter in.

Answer Hi. Replace the Water Valve, Part Number: 218832401. Also use 8212490RP WPL. 1/4"X 84" S/S BRAIDED I/MAKER WATER LINE if your plastic line behind the unit is cracked or kinked. Thank You.

Hi, I have bought from you before and am pleased with your company. With that being said I now have a problem with my refrigerator. I had no lights on the front in the dispenser area. The fridge would then every so often shoot water out of the icemaker and leak out. I shut the water off. I took apart the front and the power control board (back one had a blown 7amp fuse. I replaced the power control board. It didn't appear to be burnt anywhere, I also took out the front pc control board, nothing burnt, I reinstalled this. The lights remain on now with the new power board but when you get water out the front the icemaker also tries to fill at the same time, overflowing. I took out the icemaker and tested the water inlet switches, all good, I then tried the water dispenser without the icemaker in. Same problem water out both. I now have took apart the water inlet switches and they both have continuitity so both water inlet switches seem ok at least electrically. I am thinking maybe the dual outlet water inlet switch is bad mechanically or possibly the front pc control board but then again nothing is burnt.

Answer Hello Bill. Based on the information you provided, the diode 240567001 is bad on the unit. It is located in the wiring harness going to the water valve on the unit. It will cause the issue you are having with the water coming out on the unit.
