Where do I look to locate the water inlet valve? Is it accessable without removing machine from built in location?
Answer Hello Susie. Yes, turn off the power and the water to the unit. Then remove the toe panel under the front door on the unit. Now you can access the water valve on the left side of the unit. You will remove the water line going to the valve and unplug the wires going to the valve and the supply line.
The water will not shut off.
Answer Hello Sandy,
Here is how you check for the cause of the issue. Turn the water on and plug the machine on. Start it filling and unplug the machine. If the water stops, the issue is either something holding the float switch up or a bad float switch. If the water doesn't stop until the water is turned off at the supply, the issue is the water inlet valve.
What is the purpose of the water inlet valve?
Answer Hello John. The water valve is used to let water into the unit when power is applied to the water valve on the unit.
The dishwasher is not cleaning dishes well, especially top rack. Spray arms seem to move, I tried Dishwasher magic already. Just tested inlet valve. Resistance reads 1000 ohms. Is that in the reasonable range? Any more ideas? Thanks, Greg
Answer Hello Greg,
This issue is normally caused by a screen or filter stopping up. You should remove the lower screens and check for any clogs. If the unit is filling to within an inch of the heating element, the issue will not be the water valve. This is usually due to the "base" filter 154775402 stopping up or the check ball 154246402 sticking.
No water coming in to the unit. Checked solenoid power which checked good. Checked float valve......seems to move easily but still no water.
Answer Man cave,
If you have power to the solenoid when the unit calls for water but no water is coming in then you would first want to check to make sure water is on and if on then replace valve.
Dishwasher has a loud squealing noise during the wash cycle, This unit is only a couple years old, What do you think? Thank you.
Answer Hello John. Check and make sure nothing is inside the sump and making contact with the motor impeller to make this noise. If not, you will need to order and replace the motor kit 154844101 on the unit.
