First off, when the freezer door is opened it sometimes catches due to ice build up under the dispenser and bottom of ice maker. Lastly, I m getting no water coming out of the dispenser and no water to make ice. When the dispenser button is pressed, I hear a buzzing noise only.
You will want to check to make sure that the ice door is getting a good seal. You can do this by putting a flashlight in the ice chute and looking up into the dispenser to see if you see light around the door. If there is light you will want to check to see what is causing the door to stay cracked open. For the water issue, remove the lower kickplate and disconnect the hose and push the dispenser lever to see if water comes out of the tubing. If so your water line is frozen in the door and will need to be thawed or replaced. Pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If both of these check ok then you will want to check the water filter to make sure that it is not frozen.
Thanks, is the water valve same as saddle valve ?
Answer Hi Don. No the saddle valve connects to your water supply (plumbing) feeding the water to your unit. The water valve (as discussed) is mounted on the back of your unit, behind a lower cover. It is mounted to the Rt. side of the back frame. The water line hose from the saddle valve (or wall valve) is connected to the water valve on the refrigerator. Hope this helps. Thank you.
I need diagram of 1/4" water lines that hook to filter valve part no. 218658000. I think I may have cross two of the lines. Because when the ice maker calls for water it comes out the water dispenser in door.
Answer Hello Marty, have you tried swapping the water hoses to see if that helps? If it doesn't help, we show the connectors on the solenoids to be the same size. Try swapping them from one solenoid to the other, it will be either the water line or the wires that are crossed. Hope this helps!
