I have a model number JBP26GN1 GE electric stove. My front 8" heating element needs replacing as does the plastic terminal it plugs into. The terminal is cracked and the burner's prongs are pretty mangled. I can't find the terminal in your parts diagram. I also need instructions on how to replace the terminal.
Mysty for Model Number JBP26GN1
Answer Hello Mysty, your 8" element is WB30M2 and you also need the receptacle kit WB17X5113 to repair the connection. Disconnect power to your range. Unplug the old 8" element. Remove the screw holding the old receptacle in place. You should be be able to raise the main top and prop it up with something stable. Cut the wires at the old receptacle and strip off about 1/4" of the insulation. Attach the old receptacle twisting each wire together using the wire nuts supplied in the kit. Re-assemble in reverse order. Hope ths helps!
Is this a true GE/Calron part or a knockoff?
John D
Answer Hello John, this is a genuine factory part from GE. If you could re-post your question with your model number I could confirm if this is the correct element for your range. Thanks!
