The title of the video here says its to show how to replace the balance ring, but the video shows how to replace the cover gasket. I'm trying to figure out how to get the balance ring off.
Answer Hello Grimgoggle. You will need to remove the cover to access the balance ring. Then you need to remove the inner basket and remove the screws on the side of the balance ring to remove the balance ring from the unit.
My washer makes a roaring noise during the spin cycle. It does not appear to be out of balance as it does not shake around but has this extremely loud noise.
Answer Hello Tom,
This is the classic symptom of a bad spin bearing. The part numbers required for this repair are as follows: WH2X1198 Tub Bearing, [AP3156169 Washer Tub Seal, WH02X10265 Tub Bearing Split Ring, Tub bearing WH2X1197, and the Washer Hub WH2X1199.
How much liquid should be contained in the ring? AP2047568
Answer Hello Jessica,
The exact amount of saline solution in the balance ring has never been disclosed so it is impossible to say how much the manufacturer installs. I can safely say that it cannot be full since the liquid is forced to the light side of the tub when an uneven load begins spinning.
Washer is off balance during washing cycle or rinse cycle...not while spinning.
Answer Hello Debbie. Check the balance ring WH45X152 and make sure the liquid id still in it. If it is good, you may need to replace the suspension spring rods on the unit.
Should the balance ring contain any fluid? Mine is 1/3 full.
Answer Hello Gramps! Yes, the balance ring WH45X152 will contain fluid on the inside. This is what helps keeps the load balanced. Thanks!
Machine shakes a lot in spin. There is lots of noise.
Answer Hello Nabal. You will need to check the rod and spring assemblies WH16X10057 and WH16X543. Also check the brackets they are attached too. Hope this helps!
