Follow-up to previous question. I cannot see how the balance ring "snaps off" on this model. There aren't any obvious tabs or anything. I'm really hoping I don't have to take out the inner basket in order to get to some screws holding it in or something.

My washer makes a roaring noise during the spin cycle. It does not appear to be out of balance as it does not shake around but has this extremely loud noise.

Washer is leaking water from the top of the basket. Is it there a gasket or should I replace the balance ring and it will fix the leak? What do you recommend?
