Where does the ball bearing (also referred to as the grounding ball) specifically go? We cannot find the place to put the ball on the dryer. A diagram would be most helpful.

The ball goes under the "L" shaped bracket in the rear center where the rear tub bearing is. I am referring to the outside back of the unit. The "L" bracket allows it to be grounded while it is turning.
What is the function of the ball bearing. Have replaced it twice for squeaking problems?

Answer Hello Sal. The bearing if for tension on the shaft support. If the unit is squeaking, it is best to replace the complete kit WE25X10001 and use alot of the grease in the cup. Hope this helps.
