I have a model DBSR453EB2WW dryer. The front bearing has spaces for four (4) slides, but it only has two (2) slides. The slides are white and are in the top locations. Is this correct? This is the original condition of the dryer. I am the original owner.

Hi. I have several problems with a dryer I inherited with the purchase of a condo. First, it would not start. I opened it up, found a bunch of lint, and replaced the WE4M137 thermal fuse. After reassembling, it worked just like it should. Only a day later, it would not start. When turning the start knob, you'd hear a little hum, but the drum would not turn. Opening the door and giving the drum a "push start" and closing the door allowed it to operate fine. I am hoping it is just an assembly problem from my previous fix. Maybe I should take it apart and reinstall the belt? Maybe the bearings and slides are the cause? What parts (and quantities of each) would you recommend I purchase for replacement? I'd like to get what I need for a single repair session even if that means I return some items afterward. Lastly, the timer will buzz when done, but the timer knob just can't seem to get past the last "tick" to turn off the machine. When I just give it a little flick with my finger, it reaches it's destination and turns off. Before I left the location of the dryer I failed to confirm if the knob has a little U-clip knob insert inside it. I don't seem to remember it having one. Do you think that part WE1X980 will do the job in fixing this? There isn't anything real special about this dryer, but it's clean and new-ish looking, so I want to make it work if the parts prices don't climb too high where a new dryer might make more sense. Thanks in advance. Dan
