Repair service installed new inverter WR55X10490. Every thing I look at states this is not correct for this model? As far as operating temp it is fine but since this was installed the defrost cycle is dumping water in the freezer section. Is this due to incorrect part number or do I have a different issue? This issue never existed until inverter was changed.

Answer Geg, This would be a different issue. The drain line has gotten clogged and is not allowing the unit to drain when the unit goes into the defrost mode. You will need to clean out the ice in drain trough in the freezer and will need to flush out the drain line.

I checked the red and white control wires coming off the motherboard going to the inverter and had 12vdc when it decided to start running again.I still need to check them when the refrigerator gets warm to see if I still have the 12vdc coming off the motherboard. If so would you say that the inverter is bad or could it be something else? Keep in mind that when the fridge seems to be running normal it gets cool but doesn't seem to reach the temp setting for either side.

Answer Mike, When the unit is not running check for the 12vdc on the red and white wires. If there is not 12vdc then the motherboard is problem. If there is not then it would be the inverter.

This units compressor does not turn on. Condensor fan turns on as soon as unit is plugged in. All lights inside and fans were on. Refrige and freezer are not cooling but there are times when unit starts to work again but only for a short time then the temperature raises to about 70 for refrige and 40 for the freezer. I have power going to the inverter but no voltage coming out. I noticed a white and red wire that goes to the motherboard which must send the signal to the inverter telling it to turn on and off once the temperature is satisfied. What could be my problem? The motherboard?

Answer Mike, You will want to check to see if the control board is sending power to the compressor. If you check on the control board the either blue or white 4 plug connector you will check between the red and white wire to make sure that there is 120vac. If there is 120 vac then you either have a bad inverter board or a compressor. The most likely would be inverter.

Answer Hello Jon. Test for power to the compressor. If none is there, you will need to look for a wiring issue. If none is found, replace the main control board on the unit.
