Hello, Does my microwave use a charcoal filter? If so, what is the part number? Thank you, Jack K.
Answer Jack, if your microwave is set up to recirculate air you'll need a charcoal filter. The part number is WB2X9883. Thanks!
Grease is leaking from the top inside round disk. Grease is also leaking down from the microwave on to the stove & walls. I can smell grease, so there must be a significant amount of grease building up behind the stove. What is causing this & how do I repair it?
Answer Hello Maureen,
Since the microwave has no grease in it from the factory, it must be something that has been cooked in the unit and the evaporation has spread the grease around inside the unit. All that can be done is to dis-assemble the unit to clean the grease from the inside so it will not come out when heated.
How frequently should the recirculating charcoal filter Part Number: AP2027740 (Made by GE ) be changed?
Answer Thaddeus, according to the use and care manual the charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6–12 months, depending on hood usage). The grease filter should be cleaned once a month, or as needed. Thanks!
My manual lists a filter # as WB02x9983. What is the current number for this filter?
Answer Hello Cappy The filter has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thanks.
