The drawers in the bottom food section will not stay on the rails they fall down on the top and bottom drawers. All the plastic side rails are in place could they be worn out. Also the ice maker was freezing up around the evaporator fan behind the ice maker. I removed the icemaker, cleaned out the plastic tube that dumps the water into the ice maker, it had some frozen water on the inside also inside the freezer. The temp wheel will not move its stuck on the #5 setting do you have any input thanks.

GE - fridge , I moved this working fridge downstairs. Ice is being made. Light for ice/water fill not working. Changed out light bulb (8watt) still not working. If I open the freezer door, the light inside comes on. But we did damage that switch, but we can get light to come on and off, it's actually stuck in off pos, and if I pull on it, light in freezer works. Now, if I check ac or dc voltage at the pins on top of freezer hinge, I just get like 8V ac, I don't get any DC or 120AC. Shouldn't there be power the the CB on freezer (AP2071638) or no? What part should I test? I'm very knowledgeable with appliance / electronics and can test for continuity and voltages. Thanks! Joe

The knob to the ice/water switch has been snapped off. I assume that the entire control board OEM (part #AP2071638) will need to be replaced is this correct? Also, periodically over the years, every few months or so, we note that ice collects at the bottom of the freezer side causing water to accumulate onto the floor requiring the unit be de-iced; how can I correct this? As far as I can tell there does not seem to be any sort of obstruction in the drain.

Trying to install new Control Board AP2071638 for water/ice dispenser, but my pictures of "before" now appear pretty lousy and I'm hoping you have some photos of how to reassemble the small black piece (V7-2B27D8-022) which was not part of the new control board but old part. Not sure how to seat properly. Any photos or video reference? Thanks.

online chat POC recommended this part. Part Number: AP2071638 MFG Part Number: WR55X129 Made by: GE but I don't see a video on how to replace this part. Symptons: Fridge not dispensing ice, but it is making ice and dispensing water. We ordered Auger Motor (Ice crushing dispenser from you and installed it but no change to symptom). Auger still not turning to dispense ice. Also I see the solenoid working when I hit cubed ice button, but not when I hit the crushed ice. What are your suggestions? do you think this recommended part will make the Auger turn to dispense ice?

The light switch is working backwards (on is off and vice versa) and every time you go to dispense ice the ice maker will run but the flapper will not open and it will not stop dispensing . I tried unhooking the big plug on control board and everything does not work . I assume this is the power side of the board . Does it sound like I need a new control board ?

Our fridge makes ice but only dispenses water through the door. We had an appliance repairman come out and he said it was the controller board for the ice maker that was faulty, and he was supposed to order and return, but we've never heard from him again. According to him the motor for the icemaker is good, it's just not getting a signal to dispense. I don't have a problem replacing the part, I just want to make sure I'm ordering the correct part. Could you help?

The ice maker dispenser in the door always made a very loud noise when we purchased the house. Now when the flapper is closed it makes a terrible noise all the time, so now we have to leave the flapper open to stop the noise, it still makes a low humming noise when door is closed but not when it is open. The flapper also need to be replaced. Help.

Before cleaning a perfectly operating refrigerator the cold control knob was turned to "off''. The compressor and fans, etc. went off, but interior lights stayed on. After 5 minutes or so (before cleaning), the unattended refrigerator clicked (or popped), the 20 amp home panel breaker tripped, and the refrigerator interior lights went off. The home breaker (and a substitute breaker) instantly trip when they are reset, so the refrigerator has apparently developed some sort of short (while off) that causes the breaker to trip and prevents the refrigerator from operating. Any ideas?
