Control knob (part #8 in the diagram) won't turn part #7, the dial. We have to turn the dial by hand, and then pull #8 to start the cycle. Do I need to replace the knob and/or the clip? Thanks!

GE Washer whdsr316goww. Trying to remove timer knob. Do not see plastic clip. Appears to have metal spring clip. Have control panel open but cannot remove timer knob. Have the metal clip slid off knob towards the timer but still cannot remove knob. How can we remove this knob so it can be replaced?

At first when you would go to set the washer the knob would turn feely, not making contact with the dial and you would have to set the dial by turning it around. After a few weeks of having to set my machine like that and it working fine, now my machine won't advance to different cycles during the wash and has to be manually changed to different cycles in order to complete a wash. My husband removed the knob and the whie teeth on the knob are stripped so I know the knob needs replaced. Is that the only part I need or is there something further wrong with my machine?

The Control (?) knob that indicates which wash setting like powerwash , gentle etc spins. we must move the indicator dial to get washer to work. Do I need the knob and spring clip and compression ring or just the knob since it will not seem to catch? Thank you

The push/pull knob doesn't turn the indicator dial. You can turn it separately or push in really hard and it will eventually catch. What parts do we need and is there a video showing how to replace the knob etc for this model?

The control knob on my GE washer stops part way through the regular wash cycle and runs water in and pumps it out at the same ttime. If I turn the dial to the super wash cycle I can get it to finish. Is this a problem with the control itself?
