How do you take the cover lid off with this model?
Answer Hello Lees,
After using a putty knife/paint scraper to remove the main front, remove the screws on either side that allow the top to raise. This will give access to the tub cover. There are four screws that secure the tub damping straps that must be removed. Then there are eight points around the perimeter that clip to the outer tub. Slightly pull away from the tub then up to release them. When all eight have been released the top can be lifted out. To re-install, align the tub cover and be sure the front is to the front and press down at each clip. You will hear and/feel it snap into position.
Our maytag neptune leaks from the door. The inside seal is loose. What do I need to order?
Answer Hello Mary. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the door gasket will need to be replaced on the unit.
A pillow got caught in the lid of my washer, and seems to have seperated the cover tub (AP2047607) from the rim on the underside of the Lid Assembly (AP2047361). There is a gap there and some melted plastic (from the friction while the pillow was caught) on the inside of the lid rim as well as the tub cover (the source of the melted plastic).
Now, as i try and stretch the cover tub over the metal rim, it seems lust a bit too difficult. Before i break anything, can you help me out with some instructions? is the cover tub supposed to interface with teh rim on the underside of the washer lid?
Answer Rob, Here are the basic instructions, " SPIN BASKET" To service spin basket: 1.Remove front panel and cover/lid. 2.Disconnect four(4) dampening straps from tub, attached by 5/16" hex head screws. 3.Remove tub cover by lifting out eight(8) tabs on tub cover, and pulling cover off. The tub cover can be a bit difficult to re install and snap back into plce, but there should need to be any "stretching". As for the tub cover interfacing with the bottom of the cover panel or lid, No, it doesn't, There should be a gap between the top of the tub cover and the "lip"(underside) of the cover panel/lid opening, this allows the basket assembly to move freely, in the event of an off balnced load.
It seems like the basket on the washer has come loose how do I fix this problem?
Answer Under the agitator WH43X10034 (item 300) is an agitator coupling WH43X10032 (item 310) you will need to remove these two items. Once removed there will be a hub nut WH2X1193 (item 325). You will need to make sure this hub nut has not came loose or in any way become defective. This tightens the basket down to the inner tub base WH45X10027 (item 323).
