Is the defrost limit thermostat available with different spec temperatures.? WR50X10068 I have replaced the heater coil with the newer double coil unit and the sensor at the same time. Now the ice in the ice bin is partially melting and refreezing causing the cube to clump up causing dispenser problems.I'm thinking the freezer is over warming and could use a lower temp sensor. Thanks, Harold

My freezer gets warm and then will start defrosting, this typically happens every 5-7 days. The frequency has compressed. Sometimes when I unplug the frig for about 15-20 minutes it will begin to freeze normally and the freezer fan will once again come on. I usually need to use turbo to achieve this.. Is this a sensor, or the main board?? Dave

Hello, Here is also my serial number if needed RA233187, a couple of questions. We have no cooling issues at this time however there is a loud noise in freezer section, when I open the door the noise stops, what could this be. Also which evaporator fan motor is appropriate for my model? With thermistor or not I am not sure. Thank you.

About a month ago there was some noise coming from our Ref/Freezer side by side. I pulled it out and vacuumed from behind and now the Ref has quite cooling. We turned down the thermostat but still no luck. The freezer seams to be working fine but not the ref. What do you think I need?

Hello, Our GE refrigerator was not getting cool. The freezer was working. The evaporator coils were frosted over. I happened to have a new defrost heater on hand so I used my multimeter and checked for continuity. I replaced the heater and that seemed to be one of only a few issues. I'm not sure if I should now check the defrost thermostat or defrost limiter or what to do as a next step. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Bryan

I purchased defrost thermostat part # wr50x10068. This came up under the parts diagram for my model refrigerator. When I took apart the fridge however, the thermostat is different looking. The defrost heater is also different as well. Are the parts numbers wrong for this model? The defrost heater in the actual fridge has one wire connector on each side. The heater I purchased, again from the parts diagram for this model #, has two wire connectors for each side and has two heat conductor tubes as opposed to one in the original part I have pulled out. Please advise ASAP!
