Will the dryer run without the drum seal?

How do you install the door felt on to my GE Profile dryer model DPSR610EG0WT.
Shirley
Answer Shirley,
To replace the drum glide/upper seal assembly, raise the top panel, remove the two Phillips screws on the front panel and pull the front panel towards you. Remove the old seal assembly and glue the new seal in place using WH60X20 adhesive. Reinstall the front and the top panels.
Clothes have black marks when they are taken out of the dryer.

Answer Hello Mike,
The most common causes are a bad felt seal, or glides missing or damaged. You will want to check the glides for excessive wear and check the felt seal for being torn or damaged.
How do you install the rear felt seal back by the rollers?
Dave N
Answer Hello Dave,
This unit would not have a felt seal around the back of the drum. This tube is supported by rear bearings and does not use rollers.
Dryer drum felt seal installation.
George C for Model Number dpsb613gd2cc
Answer Hello George,
To replace the dryer drum felt seal you would use a putty knife in between the main top and the cabinet of the unit to depress clips to raise top. Once you have top up then you will remove the screws on either side that are holding the front cabinet to unit. Once removed the felt seal goes into clips around the housing of the duct assembly.
I recently replaced the front felt (Part # WE9M30) and it keeps coming out of the guide. I read on one of your answers that it needs to be glued. What kind of glue would I use for this?
David for Model Number DCVH515EF0WW
Answer Hello David,
The dryer drum felt part number WE9M30 does not require adhesive for installation. There are small clips on the dryer duct assembly that will hold it in place.
