I replaced the water valve and still no ice. What?
Answer Hello Allen. Make sure the fill tube is not frozen. If it is not frozen, then you will need to check the icemaker in the unit.
The freezer is building up ice inside on the back behind the icemaker, and not making ice cubes. Any thoughts?
Answer Hello Chuck. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I just replaced the ice maker and the dual water valve, my icemaker is WR30X10093 and the valve is WR57X10051. No water goes to the dispenser in the door and a bit went in the ice maker only once, then no water neither place. We checked the water valve for continuity, and there is none now. What could be the problem? Thank you
You would need to check the water valve for resistance as it will not read continuity. For the issue that you are having with the unit, Check to make sure that the water line from the supply to the valve is not kinked and that water is flowing from the supply. Having a new valve there should be no issue with water getting to the door or icemaker unless it is something to do with the supply line.
I need a new water solenoid valve. What part # do I need to order?
Answer Hello Kirti! The water inlet valve listed for the given model is part number WR57X10032. Thanks!
I have GE side by side.
There was water dripping from the two water valves in the bottom. is this a common problem do I need to replace the entire water valve
Answer Hello Jerry. You should not have any leaks form the valve. Check the water tubing to make sure there are no cracks. If tubing is good you will probably need to replace the valve.
