What is the difference between a GSWF and MSWF?
Answer Hello Karen,
The MSWF MSWF is classified as a fast fill filter. The GSWF GSWF only specifies that it fits GE & GE Profile top & bottom mount freezers.
Where can I find the appliance model number? My second concern is that my refrigerator has water leaking at the bottom it. Will this have something to do with the water filter needing replacing?
The model number for your refrigerator should be located in the refrigerator compartment on the ceiling or one of the side walls at the top. If it is an older model it may be located on the frame of the unit below the refrigerator door on the right side. If the water is leaking in the freezer section then check for the drain to be clogged. If the water is in the refrigerator compartment then check for a leaking water tank.
Where does that filter go in the inside of the fridge or in the back? Because I don't see where it belongs.
Answer Hello Bridgette! Viewing the diagrams we have available of this item it looks as if the filter is installed in the upper right hand side of the refrigerator section. Hope this helps!
How do I know if the filter, ( Part Number: AP3418061 ) needs to be replaced? How do I test it? My icemaker is only filling 1-2 cubes at a time, and I am wondering if the filter is plugged, so it is preventing water to flow thru valve, into the tray. Either way, how does one check the filter? What is its life?
Answer Hello Kerry, we don't have a way to advise on how to test your water filter. Rule of thumb is to replace the water filter every six months. On most units the water filter will only the water going to the water dispenser. Remember to purge your system from air, if you decide to replace the filter. Thanks!
