The oven will not light. The igniters glow, but only draw 2.7 amps and they are to draw 3.3 to 3.6 amps to allow the gas valve to open. Would I be correct in thinking the igniters need to be replaced?
Answer Hello Joe
You are correct. There has to be enough current drawn by the ignitor to build a strong enough electromagnetic field in the coils to open the gas valves. If the amperage draw is low, the ignitor is normally weak and in need of replacement.
I was about to order part #WB2X9998, a stove igniter for the one I removed labeled as 223C3381G003 Model 501A.
Answer Hello Paul,
This ignitor should work if your old one was a flat style and the wires on this one are long enough.
I have a Hot Point rga724ek1wh oven that will not light so the glow bar is bad. I just want to be sure does (AP2634719) will work for this model and make.
Answer Hello Joe,
The part recommended for your unit is (AP3875557). The part you are looking at (AP2634719) will work but you will have to use the ceramic wire nuts to wire it in, since it includes no connector.
