I am trying to install a replacement filter. My wife ordered the adaptor with the new filter. The MWF filter I took out looks identical to the relacement MWF filter. Why do I need the adaptor. Isn't the one already in the unit okay to use? Thanks.

Answer Hello David! The adapter is only needed for brand new MWF filter installations. If you already had a MWF filter in your product with no issues the adapter isn't needed. Thanks!

Hi. I purchased this adapter so that I could start using the newer filters. As of now, there is a metal cannister water filter by Culligan installed with no adapter. The place the filter screws in is directly screwed onto the refrigerator. I tried installing this adapter in all angles possible but it doesnt seem to fit in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer Hi Knual. To install the new water filter adapter you will want to remove the old filter first and twist off the old filter adapter. Once you have removed the old adapter you should be able to twist the new adapter on. You will need to purchase the new filter style for the adapter MWF. Thanks!

Purchased the filter adapter to eliminate poor water flow, it just trickles out. Happens after about two week after replacing filter. How do I take out filter holder that's in there now to replace with the adapter? Very poor design by g e need help... Hoping adapter with filter will solve problem. Afraid of breaking something taking out filter adapter that is in there now help-------
