After 16 years + the range bulbs blew up one night. Replaced both of them with the ge appliance 40w bulbs that I got at WalMart. Neither light will work . What do I try next ?
You will want to make sure that the bulb is screwed in all the way. When it seems they are fully seated try to turn a little more. If they still do not work then check to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the sockets and if not then the control board is faulty.
I need to replace a cooktop lamp holder AP3669152 in GE microwave. I believe I have to remove the bottom panel first. How do I do that?
Answer Hello Bryant,
SURFACE LIGHTS : Two 40-watt screw base incandescent tubular bulbs WB36X10003 are located on the bottom outside of the grease filters. The bulbs are user replaceable by removing one screw and lowering access cover. The bulbs could be difficult to remove when replaced for the first time, a silicone glue is used to secure them during shipping. CAVITY LIGHT : A special 40-watt screw base incandescent bulb WB36X10003 is located in the top of the oven cavity at the front. It is user replaceable by removing the top grill (2
screws). The bulb is then accessible by removing a metal cover (2 screws). To remove the bottom panel you would remove the screws along the bottom threaded up toward the ceiling, (usually 3 per side and three of four across the front). With the screws out, the main bottom will pivot back toward the wall.
Do I need to remove the bottom of the microwave to remove old and replace new?
Yes, to replace the lamp holder WB08X10016 you will need to remove the lower panel of the microwave .
How do I change an oven light receptacle in a Frigidaire model PLEB27S8CCC oven?
Answer Hello Kenneth,
You would need to take a flat blade screwdriver under the edge inside oven and pop it out. Make sure power is disconnected before doing this.
Can the glass that covers up the light bulbs underneath the microwave be replaced? Ours cracked because it got hot from the light bulb. It appears I can buy a new light socket as well??
Answer Hello Brian, we need to get your complete model number from the unit to determine the correct part. You only provided half of the model number. Please provide a complete model number so we can get you the correct part to order. Thanks!
Everything on the control panel works except the surface Lights on the bottom .I replaced one bulb but still nothing .when you turn the bright light on you can hear a clicking sound but no lights .Do you have any ideas Night timer lights don't come on either.
Answer Don, You most likely have a faulty cooking suface light relay on the control board WB27X10603. You'll need to lower or remove the bottom panel, to access the light bulb socket(s) and check for 120 VAC across the wires, to determine if the relay is closing and sending the voltage to the light sockets. Thanks
Are regular 40Watt Appliance Bulbs the same as AP2029997 bulbs?
Answer Hello Charles! Yes, the 40 watt appliance bulb WB36X10003 is the same bulb used on your microwave model JVM1440BD003. Thanks!
I replaced the bulbs Under the bottom of the Microwave, now they wont turn off. What's up with this?
Answer Hello Charles,
This is most commonly caused by the wiring harness being shorted to ground between the light sockets and the switch. This completes the circuit regardless of the switches position. It could also be a bad switch which is remaining closed even when it should be open. You will have to test these suspects with a test meter. Be sure to discontinue power before dis-assembly and testing for resistance.
