I have a French door GE refrigerator with freezer on the bottom. Ice maker stopped making ice, so I replaced it. New ice maker does not make ice and green light on ice maker is not on. What can be the problem? Water dispenser on the door is still working.
When the manufacturer redesigned the icemakers they did not put the green light on the unit. As far as the icemaker not making ice you will want to check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen. Check to make sure that the icemaker is plugged in all the way and did not back out when installing. If the fill tube and wiring check ok then you will want to check the water valve to make sure that it is getting power when the icemaker calls for water. If it gets 120 vac then the water valve is faulty and would need to be replaced.
I have a GE Profile freezer on bottom. I have water in the door, but ice maker not working. Do I need a new icemaker or a valve?
Answer Hello Braden. Check and see if the water line is frozen in the freezer door and needs to be thawed out to work properly.
I have a refrigerator/freezer (freezer on top) that I need a new icemaker for it....the old one has been taken out before I got it. Which one do I need to order?
Answer Marvin, if you are looking for an install kit you'll use part number 4396418. However, if the IM6 install kit had already been installed previously and you need a new replacement you'll use icemaker part number WR30X10093. Thanks!
