I need to replace the interface display assembly (GEH WR55x10415). How do I extract the old part?

Answer Hello Dave. The interface WR55X10415 unsnaps from the dispenser assembly. If you pull on the bottom right corner it should come loose.
When I depress the Ice dispenser lever in the freezer door nothing will dispense. The buttons on the control panel still light up and allow me to select whether I want water or ice, but nothing will come out. What is the most likely culprit for causing this problem?
The first thing to check is to make sure that the control lockout is not set. If not then the most likely cause for the issue will be the main control board. What you will want to do is a voltage test at the main control board for power to the dispenser. On the J4 connector you will want to test for voltage to and from the dispenser. Check from pin 1 to 2 for 12vdc and from 2 to 3 for 12 vdc when the dispenser lever is pushed. If there is 12vdc at both locations then the main control WR55X10942 is faulty and would need to be replaced. If there is not 12 vdc then the issue will most likely be caused by the dispenser control board WR55X10415.
My ice maker is making ice but it wont dispense.
Answer Hello Mo. Test for power to the auger motor. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, replace the motor in the unit.
Water will not stop running. Doors closed water still running. We replace control board it was hit by lighting. Everything else working. Water valve seem to be stuck on or open.
You will want to check at the water valve for 120 vac getting to it when not calling for water. If there is 120 vac getting to it then either the dispenser switch is bad or the main control board is bad. If there is no power to it then the water valve is stuck open and will need to be replaced.

The board still does not come on. Its making ICE okay but the touch buttons do come on at all to initiate ice or water .What would be the next step. Its a 8 year old machine
If you have no lights on the board then you will want to check the harness at the bottom of the freezer door to make sure that there are no loose or broken wires. If so then correct the wiring. If this checks ok then the main board would most likely be the issue but you would want to check to make sure that the board is sending power to the control.

Answer Hello Rosalind. Look on the motor for a flashing green light. Count the number of flashes and see what error code is being given and this will tell you the part you need to repair the unit.
The ice and water is not working all the time. Now it is not working at all. The lights on the ice and water display were blinking anf now there are no lights. Do you think its the ice and water display board or the main board. If I order the display board and it is the main board, can I return the display board and get the main board.
Answer Frank, You could check the DCV at the main control board on the back of the refrigerator. The J4 connector is the low voltage power out to the dispenser board WR55X10942 Remove the wiring harness connector, and check for 12 VDC across pin 2 and pin 3 and pin 1 to pin 3 on the control board pins. If you have the voltage the main control board is not the issue. Also check the pins and the receptacles on the board and harness to make sure there are no corrosion, moisture, etc. You'll also want to remove the dispenser board, and check the J4 connector for the same voltages on the same pin numbers, this will confirm the wire harness is not the issue, and you have the proper power supply to the dispenser board.
