Dryer will run a load fine then when second load is started will run for maybe 10 minutes then shut off and won't restart until sometime later. Don't know if this is the overheat thermostat or the motor. Everything has been clean all the way to the outside. Damp clothes indicator comes on on the control panel.
This issue sounds like it would be caused by a motor that is overheating. You will want to check the unit to make sure that there is nothing that is causing a drag on the motor. Make sure that you also are not overloading the unit which could also cause this. Make sure that the bearings are good and the front bearings are not worn.
I need to replace the clear insert piece that slides into the start button and I'm not sure what that part number is.
Answer Hello Alisha,
I'm not entirely sure I understand where the part you need goes. If it is the small insert that goes into the "D" shaped hold that slides onto the start switch shaft, the part number is WE1X980. If this is not the part you are referring to, please re-post and we will figure out what you need. This might be quicker and easier if you have an e-mail address to correspond through.
The interlock switch on model dx4500ge2ww. Does the pink wire go on the common side or does the brown wire go on the common side?
Answer Hello Ken,
I pulled the wiring diagram for your model number and I'm not sure what switch you are referring to as an interlock switch. The only two switches on your unit that have a brown wire and a pink wire is the extra care switch (in the control panel) and the idler pulley switch (at the belt idler arm in the base). Neither one of these switches are polarized so the wires can connect to either terminal and operate normally.
