Can the lid switch be temporally bypassed?
Answer Hello Tim,
There should be no problem with bypassing the lid switch for testing purposes only as long as you remove the bypass jumper before putting the unit back into operation. You should be able to do this at the connector in the control panel. It will be a white plastic Molex connector with a red and an orange wire in it. Unplug the connector and jump the connector on the side that doesn't lead to the switch.
The agitaor does not work. all other functions work fine.
Answer Hello Jerome. It sounds like the coupler WH49X10042 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit.
My washer works fine, but it is not taking the water ouf of the clothes. The cycle end and my clothes are still soaked. What could be wrong with the washer, since it is working and the only thing is not doing is not draining the water and the clothes stay really wet.
Answer Luis, It sounds more like the washer is not spinning. If the washer was not draining, the tub would be full of water. You'll need to remove the front panel, and start the washer, in the spin cycle, and observe to see if the motor and belt turn and the tub spins, If not Make sure the washer lid and magnet are properly mounted and secured to the washer lid and top assembly. and test the lid switch circuit WH12X10334 or replace it. We'll send you some additional information that will be helpful for you to check and test the control board and motor.
i would like to know the part # for the lid switch on model #WHRE5550K2WW ?
Answer Sevastian, There are two (2) components involved in your particular lid switch assembly WH12X10334 the "reed" switch, which mounts to the underside of the washer top, and WH12X10276 which attaches to the underside of the loading lid, and activates the reed switch, when the lid is closed. Thanks and good Luck
How to remove lid switch and replace?
Answer Hello David. You will need to remove the front panel of the washer to access the lid switch. To do this there are two clips at the top of the front panel that needs to be released. Then the front panel will pull out and up off the machine. The lid switch is located on the right side of the machine. You will need to uninstall the old one and cut the wires. Then splice the new one in and install it. Hope this helps.
