The bulb in my GE dryer burns out very quickly each time I replace it lasts about two uses. Is it possible it requires a 240 volt bulb or that it is incorrectly wired to 240 VAC.
Answer Hello Mike. You need to check and make sure the switch is turning the unit off and if so, you may need to replace the socket for the bulb on the unit. The bulb is 120, not 240.
How do I access burned out light bulb in this model?
Answer Hello Larry. Open the door and reach up toward top of the drum to remove the replace the bulb in the unit.
Light bulb is out, still good, no power, not sure what to do or check?
Answer Hello Tom. If the light is out, but the bulb is good, you will want to check the door switch WE4M415 and make sure it is good in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
