Microwave quit heating. Found bad hv cap replaced it and hv transformer. Diode checked good with 120 volts applied. Magnetron reads .3 ohms and nothing to case ground. I think this reading is good but still think magnetron is bad any help appreciated.
Answer Hello John,
You will want to check the magnet on the magnetron for cracks. The .3 ohm reading is good but if there is a cracked magnet then the magnetron will read good but not work. You will also want to check the thermal fuse on the magnetron to make sure that it is good.
Microwave has. A chemical smell when heating. Continues to heat, however
Answer Hello Paul,
The smell may be coming from something that was put into the microwave. The unit itself does not have anything that would emit a chemical odor.
