The microwave buzzes when ever you open the door, turn on the light or try to operate it. Turntable will not turn and will not heat. Had a part replaced years ago it was a wb27x10017. Could this be it again? And what does this part control? Thanks

A metallic bread tie was accidentally left in the unit on top of the glass tray. The wire arced/sparked for 5-10 seconds before it was noticed and removed. The microwave worked once or twice afterword but now will only make a slightly louder humming noise than normal but no heating. Haven't removed case yet, but was wondering where to start, 1) Diode 2)Capacitor 3)HV transformer or 4)Magnetron. It seems that if all 4 components are bad it may be more cost effecive to just buy a new microwave.

The microwave stopped heating so I was going to replace the magnetron. I have another GE microwave that the control board is damaged and I am wondering if I can use the magnetron from it. The part number on my current magnetron is WB27X10017, can I replace it with WB27X10880?

Microwave quit heating. Found bad hv cap replaced it and hv transformer. Diode checked good with 120 volts applied. Magnetron reads .3 ohms and nothing to case ground. I think this reading is good but still think magnetron is bad any help appreciated.

Hello, the other day there was a weird noise and smell coming from the microwave. I opened the front cover and noticed a burnt mark near the diode on the casing. I turned the microwave back on and the diode was burnt in two. I ordered a replacement diode and magnetron, put them both in the microwave. The microwave turns on with no noise or smell but it doesn't heat up.

Hello, the other day there was a weird noise and smell coming from the microwave. I opened the front cover and noticed a burnt mark near the diode on the casing. I turned the microwave back on and the diode was burnt in two. I ordered a replacement diode and turned it back on with the same issue. I wanted to know would a bad magnetron or capacitor would cause the diode to blow. Thanks

I have a ge spacemaker microwave oven (JVM3670SF02) and it started to smell electrical burnt every i start it. Opened the side panel and fired-up the mcirowave and witnessed big sparks coming out from the terminals of the magnetron. Tested with ohmeter and read...1.6 ohms. Also tested the diode, not getting any reading (open on both sides). Is this common that if you have a bad diode, it will eventually ruin the magnetron ? can you please provide part number for both diode and magnetron for my unit ? thanks, Sonny
