The outer black glass on my GE wall oven shattered. The two ends of the handle are also broken (these are separate pieces with a long bar between). I would like to remove the oven door until it can be fixed but am unsure how to do this. Can you tell me the parts needed, and how to remove the door? Thank you.
Answer Marya, the oven door glass is part number WB57K5248 and the handle end caps are part number WB7X7183. You will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If your door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Hope this helps you. Thanks!
What door part number would work for this GE wall oven?
Answer Hello Jim. The part you need, 346246, has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.
Follow up question. I'm also looking for a handle and screws...maybe. So Overall all I need a outer glass door and a handle. Thanks.
Answer Eugene, the oven door handle is part number WB15K5068, outer door glass is part number WB57K5248, and the handle end caps are part number WB7X7183. The manufacturer does not offer the screws. Thanks!
Is AP2035361 the correct glass for my oven? I need black with holes pre bored in it for the handles. Thank you.
Answer Hello Maureen! Yes, the oven door glass WB57K5248 is the correct outer glass replacement. You will also need to order the heat reflector WB34K5203. Thanks!
