I need an oven igniter which one should I get
Answer Barb, according to the model number provided the replacement oven igniter is part number WB2X9154. Thanks!
My oven burner ignites and works great for about 30 to 45 minutes then shuts off. I removed the lower oven plate and turned the oven on; I noticed the igniter glows orange but not white like I believe it is supposed to. I'm thinking maybe the igniter is hot enough to lite the burner but after a little time it reduces in heat which causes the safety valve to close and extinguish the flame. Any ideas?
Answer Chris, You're correct, a weak igniter WB2X9154 that glows orange, will eventually cause the oven to stop heating. it can't produce the proper amperage (2.5 to 3.0 amps) to the safety valve and it will not open when the gas is needed to produce the heat. Without a clamp on ammeter, the easiest way to gauge to operation of the glow bar is by color, it does need to glow "white" hot if it's operating proper and in order to ignite the burner flame.
My husband installed this igniter today. The igniter itself turns on, a red color, but the oven does not come on. Are we supposed to let the igniter alone for a while before we try to turn the oven on, or could something else be the problem?
Answer Hello Maria,
If the ignitor is only turning red, the issue will be the ignitor. You see, for the gas valve to open, the ignitor has to turn almost white hot. Red means the ignitor is not pulling enough current for the gas valve to open.

My oven won't ignite. The pilot is going and it is pluged in.
Would this be my ignitor and can I still get this part? I know the stove is over thirty years old.
Can you tell me how old my stove is?
Answer Hello Wil. If the igniter glows, but it does not light, Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
How to take out and reinstall the igniter?
Answer Hello Lan. There is a video on the parts page WB2X9154. It may not be exact, but should show you the basics to replace the igniter. These are not hard to replace.
