Ever since I installed this natural-gas cooktop 3-4 years ago, my wife has told me that it never seems to get hot enough at the highest temperature. I've tried tweaking the small screw inside the post that the control knob is attached to, but that only seems to affect the gas level at the lowest temperature setting. The regulator that came with the unit does not have any adjustments, so I was never able to use that to increase gas flow. My latest thought is whether or not there are adjustable regulators so that I can slightly increase the flame. My owners manual says the regulator is set a 4" of water column pressure. My question is...is this (or another regulator) adjustable, and can it go above 4" of pressure?

Hi, I am having trouble lighting my 10-year old GE gas cooktop. The problem is with gas flow. When I turn a burner switch I sometimes get gas flow and a flame, more and more though I don't get any gas flow (spark is fine) and must fiddle with the switch, back and forth, up and down, before I hear gas flow. It is the same on all burners and seems to be getting slowly worse and worse. I am guessing this is a failing gas regulator. Am I correct? Is it adjustable or do I need to replace it? Part Number: AP4346295 / GE WB19T10078? Thanks for your help. Laurie

When I turn on 1 burner gas is coming out of the other 3 burners that are not on. Is this the pressure regulator causing this and what's the fix for this? This is a Viking 4 burner gas cooktop.

Stove top seems to be okay. When running, the boiler emits a gas odor but burns. The regular oven is difficult to get started. Heat is not consistent. Seems to start only when stove top is on. Could this be the regulator?
