I have a GE Monogram refrigerator. It has started making a rattling sound every 15 to 45 minutes. Do you think damper assembly (WR49X10091) is the problem? If so, what is the step by step procedure to install it. Thanks

Just curious - how does a damper door break when the refrigerator has been sitting in the same place for 8 years? Does the cold temperature cause the hinge to eventually crack? Your site is outstanding, unlike this refrigerator! I've already replaced the motherboard, need to replace light switch, and the thermistors will be next. Thank you for all the great information!

The refrigerator side is too cold regardless of what we set the temps at. I troubleshot and found out the damper door was broken at the lower pin that connects to the actuator. I intend to attempt to epoxy the door and see if I can repair it. If I cannot, is it possible to buy only the damper door itself vice purchasing the entire damper door assembly, fan and motor actuator (part number WR49X10091)? Thanks in advance! Chris

I ordered this for my appliance and this new replacement part is showing to have too thick of a gasket for that AND the spout that comes with this new one to fit on my refrigerator. I would like some installation instructions on how this is supposed to work on my appliance. And I would also like to know if this spout piece that came with the kit is necessary.

My refrigerator temp. gets as low as 31 degrees F. over night. I have raised the temp from the factory setting of 37 to 39 degrees and nothing changes. I noticed that the 3.0 LBS. light on the Express Thaw setting stays on all the time. I have followed the oweners manaul instructions and have set the Express Thaw setting to where no light is on. I close the door and reopen the door and the 3.0 LBS. light is on again. Is this light suppose to stay on or is it my problem. The Freezer is set to factory settings and falls to -2. Thank you.
