I have an oven that keeps heating with the oven off I replaced the main board and it does the same thing. what are the other possible problems. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks

Answer Hello Charles. Check your outlet and make sure it is getting the proper voltage. Also trace the wires at the terminal block and make sure they are ok. Then trace the wires on the element that stays on and look for melted or burnt wires. Hope this helps.

I have a GE double wall oven. It bakes ok, but when I try to run the self clean cycle in the top oven, I get an F-3 error code. I usually have to turn off the power to get it to shut down and let it cool. Would it be the sensor that is bad? and the number on the sensor isn't the same description when I pull up a part photo.

F-3 is a shorted or open sensor. This can also be the result of contamination on terminals, a pinched wire in the sensor circuit, or a cold solder joint on the control board. To test the sensor, using an ohm meter the sensor should read about 1100O at about 70°F. Be sure to tap on the sensor while testing in case of an intermittant sensor. The part number shown for this model by GE is WB23T10015.
My problem is the convection baking temp control works fine but, the bake mode temp is low by 50 degrees. Is it the control board ? Thanks.

You would want to check the temperature sensor WB23T10002 to see what it ohms out at. It should ohm out at about 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the oven sensor checks ok then you would want to replace the control board WB27T10246. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. An F2 Error code indicates that the control senses oven temp above 615 degrees. There are 2 things that you want to check. If the oven had been on for a while then you would want to check your relay contacts for the back or broil elements. If you find this then you need to replace Oven control WB27T11312. If you are just starting unit and it flashes F2 error code then you want to check sensor. Using multi-meter ohm out the oven sensor WB21T10007. You should get 1100 ohms room temp. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. If I set the temperature to a certain temperature the oven never reaches the desired temperature. The temperature preheat light comes on even though it's not fully heated.

The first thing to do is turn the breaker off and then back on. If this produces no results, I would check the bake element WB44T10011. It should read between 35 to 70 ohms of resistance. If this teats good, the next part will be the clock Assembly WB27T10230.
How can I get to the sensor assembly in the oven. I know it is location is 253 on the parts picture, but what do I need to unscrew to get to it? Thank you for your help.

Answer Hello Maya. Look inside the oven and see if there are any screws you can access from the inside. If not, you will need to uninstall the unit, and remove the back panel to access and replace the oven sensor WB23T10002. Hope this helps.
