The light in the refridgerator is shorting on an off. I need to replace the socket. After I unplug the fridge, what do I need to do to get at the existing socket and replace it for this model? Thanks
Answer Hi. Remove the control shaft knob.Remove one cover 1/4" side mount screw. Then cock the cover off the front of the controls to access the inner control bracket. The bulb is part # 60A. Then remove the inner control bracket that covers the light socket part # WR2X9391. The socket is held into place by screw mounts. Remove the screw and remove the socket. Thank You.
The light bulb switch seems to work fine but the light bulb in the socket is loose and flickering. What do I have to take apart to get the new light bulb socket hooked up? Thanks
Answer Hi. Remove the top shelf. Turn the unit off. Remove the knobs. Remove the control cover. Inside is the bulb part # TJ8009 and the socket. The pars view does not clearly show how to access the socket but you may need to remove another inner cover to release the socket part # WR2X9391 from its push in tabs and replace it. It is an easy process. Thank You.
How do I remove the Light socket for replacement? Mine seems to have a short. It is loose and blinks off and on all the time.
Answer Hi Elaine. You will have to remove the power to the unit. Then you will have to remove the light cover lens, and bulb. Then un clip the holding fingers which hold it to the back cover. This will allow the socket to fall back into the evaporator area. then you will need to remove the 4 - back wall screws to access the socket assembly, and replace. Your socket is part # WR2X9391. Thank you.
