How does the ice dispencer crush the ice?
Richard for Model Number TBX22PRBSRWW
Answer Hello Richard. The solenoid raises the cover, so that the ice has to go through the chopper blades to exit the dispenser. If the solenoid does not raise the cover, the ice will drop out of the large hole. Hope this helps.

Which solenoid controls the ice cubes maker?
Guest
Answer This is the solenoid that controls switching from crushed to cubed ice. However this control board WR55X129 is the controler for this solenoid and causes it to switch back and forth. Hope this helps.

How do I remove the actuator cradle to access part AP3697604?
Mark
Answer HI Mark. Just like you imagine, you remove the fountain control cover (Eustachian cover) first. Use masking tape all around the frame at the door to help from gouging the door. Use a small screwdriver to release the cover inner clips starting from the bottom. Use a flashlight especially if the color is black. Then you will lift up and off the front of the door. Un hook the ribbon cable from the keypad assy. if needed. You now will see a user interface control board. Note all wire connections before removal for correct reinstalling purposes. Use a cell phone for pictures if needed. Remove all static from your hands/body by touching bare metal a few times. Only touch the boards on the corners to remove them. Then now with all this removed you are at the solenoid assy. Route the wires so they will not be pinched. make sure the solenoid assy. part WR62X107 is tight so it will not "hang- up" or buzz /rattle when activated. Thank You.
Bought part #AP2071983 Solenoid thinking that would solve a problem I was having with ice maker. It's making ice but not dispensing. When I have in set on crushed ice it does nothing at all but when set to cubed ice the door opens but the auger does not turn. I tested the auger motor as well a the solenoid next to the motor and they checked out fine. Water dispenses fine. Any ideas?

Answer Hi Bob. You will need a volt/ohm meter part # WB27T10549. Remove the lower toe kick plate or the controls and use the supplied wiring diagram folded in a sheet. Remove the upper freezer door hinge cover. See if the 120 vac is there. Make sure the connector pins are in good condition, not burned or pushed back into the connector not making contact. Then look at the inner door switch to see if it is good. It should toggle open and closed w/ a volt meter. You can also bypass these wires to send the 120 vac to the fountain control board part # WR55X129. At each test, toggle the paddle switch part # WR23X366 to see if it works now. Remove the ice bin. Tape the door switch shut and command between the ice and crushed w/ a glass. Is the auger motor part # WR60X10262 and the crush solenoid part # WR62X58 working now and getting the 120 vac? Un plug one at a time electrically and insert the meter leads to See if the 120 vac is being sent to the device. If not then the paddle switch may not be working or the control board part # WR55X129 needs changed. Follow all electrical wires and tighten the connections. Repair if necessary. Thank You.
