My fridge won't dispense ice. The little door doesn't open when you push to dispense ice. I took the front off and checked for mechanical broken parts. Everything looks fine. Gene in the forum suggested I check the Solenoid. I don't know how to do that and I don't know if I could change that part if i bought it.

I have a lot of frost/ice formation inside the ice chute. The flapper and the solenoid seem to be working fine. Does the solenoid lose range of motion over the years causing the flapper to leave a small gap and letting air in? Will this be fixed with a new solenoid alone?

The flapper that despenses ice started opening and closing by itself. Sometimes it opens and stays open making a buzzing noise. It sounds like the solenoid is malfunctioning or has a mind of it's own.
