I have JGP975SEK1SS stove with 5 burners.
The right bottom, the largest burner is making a ticking sound.
All the other burners are fine.
I suspect I need a spark igniter,am I correct.
Answer Hello Amin. If there is no spark from it when the others are turned on, then it could be igniter. If it sparks when others are on, it is not the igniter, it is the switch. Check it when the others are turned on.
Does the ge igniter (ap3779012) pictured on your website come without the wiring like my ge cooktop gas stove? And if so, does the wire going to the igniter unplug when replacing a new igniter.
Answer Hello John! No, the top burner igniter WB13K10014 does not include the wiring. The wiring is removeable from the current igniter. You may use the link for the repair video tied to the parts page for installation assistance. Thanks.
All four burners keep making sparkling noise so I went ahead and unplugged it. In order to use the the stove I light it with a gas gun even though its unplugged.
Answer Hello Ashley,
You either have a bad start switch or the spark module has failed. I would have included part numbers if the full model number had been listed.
Does this come with the wire as well, or just the ceramic portion?
Answer Hello James! No, the top burner igniter WB13K10014 does not include the wiring. For the wiring use part number WB18K10023. Thanks!
Front left burner has no spark. It lights with a match. I think the ignitor is bad.
Answer Hello Tom,
You can check to make sure that it is the ignitor that is bad by checking continuity of the ignitor. If it has continuity then the ignitor would be good. Also check continuity of switch. Turn gas off and check burner switch with the switch on for continuity. No continuity would be a bad switch.
I am trying to dissassemble the top-glass to be able to see what is wrong. I am having difficulties removing the electrode. It looks like there is a clip holding it. How can I pull out the electrode?
Answer Hi Anto. Correct there is a clip part # WB01K10112 holding the igniter on. They have pop out side fingers that need to be released to lift the complete igniter out. Un hook the wire to the igniter. Make sure it is a tight connection when reinstalling it. The igniter part # WB13K10014 should not be cracked or open continuity on it. Use a volt/ohm meter part #@ TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Thank You.
What is the difference between igniter and electrode top? They look identical.
Answer Hello Chung. On the igniter WB13T10010 the keeper ring is at the bottom of the post, and the electrode top WB13K10014 the keeper ring is in the middle. You will need to check and see which one you need for the burner. Hope this helps.
