My Maytag washer machine will start to go in a spin cycle 2 times and stop and the light starts to flash . The load is level .I even tried with nothing inside the drum the same-thing happens ? The drum moves side to side real easy . Do you think it is the dampening straps are broken ?
Answer Bernie, Your Maytag Centennial washer does not have dampening straps, so there's no need to consider that. If your washer won't spin, even empty, there are several things you'll want to check . First, make sure you don't have a voltage issue, if the power supply drops below 108 VAC when the motor starts, it overheats and shuts down. Remove the tub cover and check for small articles stuck between the inner and outer tub. Remove and check the drain pump 3363394 for something stuck in the impeller, or a seized up impeller.
my ge washing machine dampening strap had broke in the middle of it.
so when I change it what kind of tool is needed to unscrew the clip holding it? and does it break easy? thanks
Answer Aprill, You should replace all four of the dampening straps(per the manufacturer) The screws that attach the strap and retainer to the tub cover and chassis are standard, 1/4 inch hex head screws. If you have a basic 1/4 inch drive socket set or Nut driver set, you'll be fine. Thank You
I can move my tub from side to side when machine off and makes loud noise when maching is on. Do I need tub dampening strap replaced to secure tub or is something else the matter?
Answer Hi Dip. Washer Tub Dampening Strap Part Number: WH1X2727. - This washing machine tub dampening strap is used on all the new style General Electric, Hotpoint and RCA washers. It is recommended that all four are replaced at the same time for even wear. It is also suggested that you check for cracks on the tub cover where this strap mounts. For the tub dampening strap retainer order WH1X2726. Thank You.
Replacement of washer tub dampening strap.
Answer Hello Ben. Remove the front panel of the washer and remove the screws securing the top panel. Slide off the top and remove the screws securing the strap WH1X2727 to the tub and cabinet. Reinstall with the new strap in reverse order. Hope this helps.
When the washer seems to have a bigger load on wash cycle. The machine will stop and a F will be in the display and beeping and all the cycle lights are flashing. If I hit cancel stop and move the cloths around and hit start it will work for about ten minutes and stop again?
Answer Robert, My guess is you're getting an "F70" or "oL" code in the display. " F70 or oL flashes when the machine/motor control detects a load size that exceeds the washer’s capacity OR basket can not disengage. This may signify: ? Load size exceeds washer capacity. Remove excess laundry, then restart cycle. ? Mechanical friction on drive mechanism, not allowing the basket to disengage." You'll need to watch the load size, when doing large or heavy articles. Good Luck and Thanks
