Hi - GE Washing Machine problem is getting more frequent. The spin cycle, at high loads, will bang uncontrollably, until the machine is turned off. Smaller loads do not seem to have this problem as much, but it does seem to be getting worse and more frequent. The machine appears to already have the Conversion Apron installed, as it is a single, black piece. I don't see any bending or flexing when the machine is on. The Suspension Rods are all in tact, and none of the Dampening Straps are broken. Not sure where to start. We've had the washing machine for many years, and it would "bang" before, but only with a super-heavy towel load. Any suggestions?
You will want to check the unit and make sure that the inner tub of the unit is not getting loose which would cause this issue. Even though the springs and rods look ok, this may be the issue with the unit getting off balance.
What is the part number that the straps attach to? I need to order both.
Answer Hello Lisa. The straps depending on your model number would mount to a part similar to WH46X10270. If you could please send us your model number, we could provide you with the correct support plate and straps. To perform the repair you can watch the video under the strap listing. Thanks!
The front 2 dampening straps are broken could this be the cause of the machine not draining?
Answer Hello Monica. No, it sounds not prevent the drain pump from working, but will need to be repaired. As for the pump, if it is not clogged, you will need to replace the pump on the unit.
