I replaced the water inlet valve due to no water coming into the unit. Tested the float switch and it is fine, also disconnected connection to the I let valve and ran through the drain cycle to get to a full cycle an am getting 120 volts to the inlet valve but I still am not getting water through the valve. Could I have a defective unit or could there be another problem?
Matt
Answer Matt,
With having 120 vac to the water valve, this should energize the valve to allow the water to come through. You will want to double check to make sure that the water is turned on at the supply and check to make sure that there is water getting to the valve. If the valve is getting water and getting power then the valve would be the defective and need to be replaced.
Dishwasher runs does not fill with the water. What is wrong?
Margaret for Model Number GLD4560N10SS
Answer Hello Margaret. Check and see if the float is stuck in the unit. If not, then make sure the float switch is good. If so, then the water valve is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
How do I replace step by step the Inlet Valve for the dishwasher? Do you have any repair manuals?
Thanks
Al for Model Number GSD2030Z07WW
Answer Al,
We do not have a service manual for this unit. To remove the water valve on the unit, remove power to unit or turn off breaker and shut off water supply. Remove the lower access panel by removing the 1/4" screws that hold them in place. Remove the water line from the water valve. A crescent wrench will work for this. Remove the water valve and if there is an L connector on it remove the Connector and switch to the new valve. Reinstall in reverse.
Ge dishwasher operates well, but does not empty tub. I realize some water must remain in the tub for part lubrication. But its right up to the hinge after its cycle. The water that remains is of course dirty water. I replaced the flipper in the discharge hose. as well as the float nut and bolt assembly.

Answer Scott,
You will want to pull the pump and check to make sure that the drain impeller is not broken. If it is this would cause the unit to not drain. If it is broken you will want to replace the pump seal and impeller kit. Also check to make sure that the drain solenoid WD21X10060 is activating when going to drain.
Dishwasher runs but does not fill with water.
James for Model Number GSD2020Z02BB
Answer James,
You will want to check to make sure that the float on the left front of tub is not stuck in the up position. Also check to make sure that the float switch is good. If the switch is reading open when pushed in the the switch is bad and needs to be replaced. If this checks ok then check for 120 vac to the water valve when unit is calling for water. If there is not 120 vac then check at the timer for 120 vac on the water circuit. This circuit can be found on the wiring diagram. If it is sending 120 vac but water valve is not getting 120 vac then you would have a faulty wire. If you get 120 vac to the valve and no water then the water valve WD15X10003 would need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I just bought a new inlet valve. How do I access the old valve to replace it? Do I need to remove the washer door? If so, how do I remove it properly?
Jack for Model Number gsd6200jo1ww
Answer Hello Jack. You need to turn off the water and remove the toe panel. Once removed, then you can access the water line and remove it from the valve. Then remove the hose and screws and wires from the valve and replace the water valve on the unit.

Dishwasher makes a lot of noise when filling then runs normally
Andrew G for Model Number GLD5500L15CC
Answer Andrew, The water inlet valve WD15X10003 is the place to start, based on your post information. You also want to flush the water supply line, to clear any debris in the pipes.
GE Hotpoint dishwasher wont fill, checked switch and inlet valve, switch has continuity when float is down and solenoid gets 1078 ohms, checked volts comimg from switch when on and getting 1.6 volts, is that enough for solenoid valve?
Dan for Model Number hda3230z07ww
Answer Hello Dan,
The water valve is a 120Vac component. The issue needs to be traced back through the harness. You could have a burned wire nut at the power connection, a bad control/timer, a bad door switch, or a bad timer, or the problem can be all the way back i the breaker box (bad breaker or connection to the breaker. The tech sheet on the unit has a wiring diagram on it that should carry you through the circuitry.
New on - off valve, water line, water inlet valve - is filling - soap on door from main cup. Open door later in cycles not enough water to wash????
Ray for Model Number HDA3400G02BB
Answer Ray, Remove the flaot cover WD12X445 and the lower access panel, check that the float and stem are not "sticking" due to a build up of detergent and residue. Also check the float switch bracket WD12X10023 and switch, make sure they have not been dislodged or are out of alignment. You'll also need to check and make sure you have a water system that can supply an avaerage of 7((seven) gallons of water per minute, for the machine to fill properly.
