The water dispenser continually drips water.
Eddy for Model Number TFT20JR
Answer Hello Eddy. Remove the water line from the water valve and see if the valve is dripping water. If so, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit.
Ice maker works perfectly, (knock on wood) Water does not flow when you switch to water on the doors. The light comes on when you push the button for both ice & water.
Do I need to repalce the valve?
Jim H. for Model Number TPX21PR GE Profile
Answer Jim, The water valve is a good place to start. You could disconnect the wires from the fill valve solenoid(orange/red) and attach your meter leads to the wire terminals, press the water dispenser paddle and check for 120 VAC across the wires. If the voltage is present repalce the valve. if no voltage you'll need to check the switches in the dispenser assembly and the wires to the valve.
The renters stated water was flowing from the ice maker. They shut off the water. I came over and turned on the water and cannot recreate the issue. I don't seem to get water going to ice maker. Is it the AP2071724 water inlet solenoid?
Scott for Model Number GE TFX25JRBA
Answer Hello Scott,
This s either the water inlet valve WR57X10012 or a partially restricted water supply or low water pressure situation. If the water pressure is running just high enough to work, should the ice maker cycle at the same time a commode is flushed or a shower is running,.....etc., the water pressure could be dropping below an acceptable level and the water valve, being closed only by water pressure, might not be able to close. This would explain why you cannot recreate the situation. Since there isn't a definite way to recreate the circumstances around the leak, the safe bet is to replace the water inlet valve and go ahead and check the water pressure with a gauge. You should have between 30 p.s.i. and 120 p.s.i. of water pressure.
The water to the ice maker does not shut off. It drips over the back of the ice maker and a large ice dam builds up. The ice dam grows and hits the fan. Is the water valve the problem?
Walt for Model Number GE - TFX25JRBBAA
Answer Hello Walt,
You either have a bad water inlet valve WR57X10012, or low water pressure to the unit. Check you water supply lie for crimps and make sure if you have a self tapping saddle valve, that it isn't stopping up with mineral deposits or sedimentation from the water supply.
My ice maker works but there is no water going to the ice maker. I get water to the dispenser.
Ray for Model Number ed5fhgxkt02 whirlpool
Answer Hello Ray.Check the fill tube at the back of the icemaker to be sure there is no ice blockage. If there is, you can quickly thaw it out with a hair dryer. If you just changed the water inlet valve WR57X10012, this corrected the problem which normally causes the fill tube to clog with ice. (The other thing that causes it to freeze up is low water pressure). Sure hope this helps!
