My original valve body had push-in connectors with steel grippers holding the tubing in. This replacement valve body has threaded connections. What threads are these (compression or IP)? What parts can I order for each side. 5/16" tubing and 1/4" tubing. Can I use brass fittings on plastic tubing?

When hooking up the electrical connections back up after replacing the water valve, does it matter which direction the terminal connector is installed? My unit has a white wire on one side of the terminal connector and an orange wire on the other side.

I just bought a new dual water valve and the new valve has threaded receivers for the water lines instead of push-in connectors on the original. Your previous answer gave 2 part numbers, one for the 1/4 inch and one for the 5/16 inch lines. But one of the parts is a cap and one is a connector. Are these really the parts - ALL the parts - I need to connect the plastic water lines to the valve? (no problem connecting the supply line).

I just bought a Water Valve "AP2071724" but it does not have the farrows to connect it to the Poly tubing. I think I need a 1/4" thread and a 5/16" thread (notice the 2 plastic threaded ends that connect to the water dispenser and ice maker. What kit can I buy? Thanks!

Ice maker works perfectly, (knock on wood) Water does not flow when you switch to water on the doors. The light comes on when you push the button for both ice & water. Do I need to repalce the valve?

The renters stated water was flowing from the ice maker. They shut off the water. I came over and turned on the water and cannot recreate the issue. I don't seem to get water going to ice maker. Is it the AP2071724 water inlet solenoid?

The water to the ice maker does not shut off. It drips over the back of the ice maker and a large ice dam builds up. The ice dam grows and hits the fan. Is the water valve the problem?

I have a GE Frig. side by side with water and ice despensor. Ice maker works perfectly but every now and then I will find a puddle of water on the floor. It appears that somehow water comes out intermittently and squirts on my kitchen floor. I recently took it apart and found a switch that controls it but it seems to work fine and never sticks or anything. Could this switch just intermittently come on or could it be something else?
