Door dispenser when pressed for ICE < WATER OR CRUSHED continues to run until I open door pressed 0/1 shut off? or unplug refrig. and plug back in. to stop dispensing Solution..replace on/off in the door switch/S holder button?
Based on this description, it sounds like the issue with your unit is either the arm that pushes on the switch is sticking from stuff that may have splashed on it or the switch is sticking and would need to be replaced.
Need to replace cap door assembly part #5007JA3006R. How do I take apart the front to access the part to be replaced?
Answer Hello Kathy. Disconnect funnel and button assembly by pulling down and forward. Remove display frame Assembly by making a gap between a display frame Assembly and funnel Assembly. with a blade screwdriver and pulling it forward. The cover dispenser is attached with a hook. The Display Assembly can be connected by pressing the top of the dispenser cover and pushing it after separating the Display Frame from its housing. Loosen four screws with a Phillips screwdriver and pull the funnel Assembly to disconnect. The Duct Cap Assembly can be disconnected if the hold lever connecting screw is loosened with a Phillips driver. To install the Duct Cap Assembly, insert one end of the spring into the right hole of the dispenser lever and insert the other end into the right hole in the top part of the dispenser. Then attach the holder at the solenoid switch.
The ice machine is making ice and going to the door but will not drop out of the flap.
You will want to check to make sure that there is power getting to the dispenser solenoid to see if it is bad. In most cases the dispenser solenoid has failed and caused the door arm to be bad so it may be necessary to get the Duct cap assembly and the dispenser solenoid.
What is the circuitry on the AP4438395 (5007JA3006R) Cap Assembly? There is a two wire connector. What does it do?
Answer Hello Capn,
These are the wires to the ice door heater. I keeps the ice door warm enough to prevent moisture in the room air, (humidity), from condensing and puddling in the tray. Some units still use them and some models have dis-continued these.
