I put the spring over the dispsenser lever and inserted one end of the spring into the hole in the lever. Unfortunately I don't see a hole in the top part of the dispenser. Am I missing something or do you just bend the other end of the spring and simply let it rest against the dispenser? thank you!

Hi. I hope you can help with our nutty fridge! The ice makers (for lack of better terms) "trapdoor" does not close when it should. About 5 seconds after dispensing ice the door should close by itself. I do hear a "click" like the solenoid releasing but the door (more often than not, does not close.) If I forget to check it I can have a lot of melted ice a while later. So, I have to push the door back manually although it does not feel like it is a mechanical issues but rather like an electromagnetic resistance. Any idea what part should be swapped out, the main board for the ice maker? I still haven't taken it apart to take a physical look but I know that manually closing the door is not good in the long term. Oh, I should also mention that I can feel cold air coming from that area and there is dampness in that area. So, it looks like the trapdoor is closed but not firmly enough to keep ice from melting. I hope you can help. My wife wants a new fridge but I think this should be a fairly easy fix. I'm an accomplished do-it-yourselfer :-)Thanks! Pete

In order to replace the Cap Assembly duct (AP4438395), how best to disconnect the button assembly and the display frame without damaging the fridge, or damaging/breaking some of the parts that need to be removed? Are there any hooks that need to be released first in order to carefully remove the necessary parts? What tools do you suggest to use when doing this on your own? Many thanks in advance for your help!
