When trying to dispense ice the flapper door will open for just a moment and then close causing ice to plug up the chute. The only way to get the ice is to reach up into the chute and manually open the door. The flapper acts like there is timing circuit that is set for to short of a period. If parts are needed what are the part numbers.

Having trouble with this cap assembly. The hook on the assembly that attaches to the solenoid pin continues to break. It appears there is melted plastic on the pin. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have replaced the solenoid, but the plastic cap assembly does not appear compatible with the heat build up from the solenoid.

Having problem with LG refrigerator. First, ice door quit working. LG repair man came and took water and ice dispenser section out of door. Lever was broken off the end of the flapper (cap assembly, duct). He replaced with new cap assy and the plunger that activates it. Worked for a few days and broke again. Then he replaced cap assy again and the user control board in dispenser. Worked good for a couple of weeks then light in dispenser started flashing on and off (like morse code),and ticking noises coming from the main board area on top of fridge. Then it started dispensing water on its on (maybe 8 ozs at a time). Have to keep glass under it at all times now because we dont ever know when it will dispense. Flapper for ice is now broken again so no ice dispenses through door. I now believe the refrigerator is possessed. Still ticks from main board and light flashes on and off on dispenser. Could the main board the problem? Thanks, Emory

I put the spring over the dispsenser lever and inserted one end of the spring into the hole in the lever. Unfortunately I don't see a hole in the top part of the dispenser. Am I missing something or do you just bend the other end of the spring and simply let it rest against the dispenser? thank you!
