I think the design of these dampers is poor. Is there another manufacturer's damper that would be better to substitute for these, something with a real shock absorber? Not everyone I have talked to with a front loader has the vibration problems that we have with the LG.

I replaced the bearings on this unit about a month ago. The drum spins quiet and trouble free. However, after a few successful loads of laundry, I was getting the UE code and the spin cycle would not complete. I replaced the dampers because they showed wear and they came apart during the bearing replacement repair. For about 3 weeks, we used the machine quite a bit and it seemed to be repaired and worked great. Now, the UE code is coming up again! The machine is perfectly level. The wash and rinse portions of the complete cycle run perfectly. The drum spins perfectly quietly. The pump is draining water with no issues. What could be my problem? Please help. I am dying here!

Hi I have an LG WM1832CW, I ordered from appliancepartsprops, and replaced my self the two bearings and seal. I took pictures as I was disassembling it to ensure correct re-assembling. It runs super quietly now. One of the dampers came loose and put it back together. Now at the very begining of the rinse cycle it makes like 4-5 "thud/bang" noise, sounds like metal to metal clank. After the 4-5 "thud/bangs the rinse cycles continues with no problem to the spin cycle without problem as well. I rotated the position ot the dampers and the noise continues. Other than that the machine is running like new. Any suggestion? Thanks Oscar

I recently replaced the bearings on my washer. The drum spins trouble free and quietly. I was getting a UE error code on the machine even with a small load. I replaced the dampers (shocks) and ran a couple loads with success, but now got the UE error code again. What may be the problem? The springs were put back into the same slots they were from the factory and the weights seem secure and properly re-installed. Any suggestions?

Yesterday I replaced the bearings and seal on the machine and the Hall Sensor. The machine works fine and quietly now. I followed the instructions in your online video and all went well it seemed until the machine comes to the spin cycle. It tries to ramp up speed but eventually times out with a UE code. Some of the foam pieces from the inside of the shocks came out of the shocks either prior to or from my repair work. I removed the shocks individually and re-installed the foam inserts into the shock assembly and was able to finish a rinse and spin cycle with a medium size load. Now, the UE code is showing again with the next load of laundry. Do the Shock assemblies need to be replaced or is there a way to repair them? The bearings seem to be installed right and the drum spins quietly. Please give me your best advice. Thanks

On spin cycle, it has been getting louder and louder. Now it has additional noises and scraping sounds. I can move the drum around by hand like it is not attached except in the back at the motor so I think the dampers have broke. Is there anything else to replace when I get into it?
