When the washer is used a thin stream of water leaks from the bottom of the door. I tightened all of the screws in the door, inner side, the hinge, and the latch or door lock. No help! Is it possible that the door seal needs to be replaced? Thank you. John
Answer Hi John. Feel the inner door glass at the 6:00 position. Under there it is possible that there may be some lint or scum that has stuck to the glass and not allowing the door to seal correctly. Wipe this glass circumference totally dry. Then look carefully at the same area of the door boot part # 4986ER0001C. It may have a nick or gash that allows the water to leak. If the unit is over loaded it will allow clothes to bunch upon in the boot area and possibly rip the boot if there were anything left in pants pockets. Thank You.
Recieved a new outer tub and new gasket. There is no place to attach the spring clamp to hold the gasket on (the gasket indentions for the spring clamp are above the outer tub rim.
Answer Hello Ralph. There should be a lip for the gasket to slide onto the outer tub. Then you will install the spring clamp to hold the gasket 4986ER0001C in place. The lip is not very large, just enough to hold the gasket onto the tub assembly. Hope this helps.
I want to buy the gasket from you, but I don't know how to take off the metal band in order to change the gasket. Do you have a tutorial on it?
Answer Hello Joe. It looks like that metal band/clamp for that gasket is a spring-type retaining ring. You should be able to simply pull it from the sides, expanding the spring, and allowing you to slide it right off. I hope this helps!
