How will we know if dE code is caused by sensor to or the actual front load washer door latch that made the cycle to stop. We tried plugging it off and on. The latch seems working fine and secured. We just want to be sure before ordering the latch. Thanks.
The DE error code does indicate a door open error. You will want to check the door strike on unit, make sure that the door is closed all the way, check for loose electrical connections at the door switch and PWB assembly. If these check ok then you will need to replace the door switch assembly.
Cannot open door can hear lock click but door will not open
Answer George, Does the "door locked" light cycle off and on with the click noise? And do you not get an error code ( OE,DE, PE, etc.) You're on the right track, The issue could be a mechanical or electrical issue in the door latch assembly. We're sending you some additional information, that should help. Good Luck and Thanks
How can I test the Door Lock Assembly Switch (AP4441836) to make sure it's working. It doesn't seem to sense when the door is closed so when I press on the start button after selecting a cycle nothing happens. I took the switch out and check the 4 pins with my continuity test and none of them change connectivity no matter what position the switch is in.
Answer Hi Mike. The door lock Assy. part # 6601ER1004C has a coil and a wax motor that closes within a predetermined time. So you can only test some of the latch. See the page of this service manual to test.I would use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. Use the supplied Tech. sheet to aid you in the diagnostic mode. Is the display showing a dE code? It is designed to test the individual par6ts and throw up a fault code. You will find it in the top area after you remove the top. Make sure all latch connections are tight. Thank You.
Washer keeps interior light on and keeps turning on front panel - as if it is ready to wash. Everything functions but it keeps "turning" itself on- tried powering down from main breaker, latch looks ok but may have been bumped out of alignment. Could this be the latch switch sending wrong message to brains of washer saying 'we are on and ready" repeatedly?
Answer Hi Wash K. The answer is not really...... If the door is closed it is its job just to sense open and closed to the board and lock if the main control board has received the wash command. Is the start button depressed and keeps engaging the washer to start. Will it complete a full wash cycle normally and then shut down - or just restart itself again ? You need to use the supplied tech. sheet to put the unit in diagnostic mode and see if a fault code will show. Is there any standing water or something stuck in the pump? Thank You.
Washer does not power on and no codes were on previous use. There is power in the outlet. What kind of repair damage am I looking at?
Answer Hello Mary. Test and see if there is power coming into and out of the filter assembly 6201EC1006T. If so, test and see if there is power going to the PCB board 6871ER1023R If so, and the board is not sending power out, you will need to replace the PCB board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Washer powers on, but before it even starts the cycle it makes two knock noises on door switch, and gives a dE code. Is it the door switch, that needs replacing ?
Answer Ed, Yes, The "DE" fail code indicates a door lock error. 6601ER1004C The door switch assembly and wiring is a great place to start, and is the most likely issue, as long as the door is aligned to the front panel and the latch hook on the door is not loose or broken. Thanks and Good Luck.
