I have error ER IF. How to test Part #: 5209JA1044A fan icing motor to ensure it still works or is dead.
Answer Hello Tom,
A motor should not read open but will read a resistance. As far as the exact resistance, we would have to have a model number so we could look up the wiring diagram on the unit. This may still not give the exact resistance reading, but is the only way we could check to see if the manufacturer even listed it for the model.
I have an error code ER 1F I know this has to do with the fan for the ice compartment. How can I access and inspect the fan motor. Is there any preventative maintenance as to avoid this problem in the future?
You will need to pull out the freezer drawer and take off the door and basket, remove the upper basket and then remove the rear wall in the freezer compartment. This issue will likely have to do with ice build up around the fan motor.
I need to replace my ice duct fan assembly 5209JA1044A in my refrigerator LFX 25975s (now discontinued). How do I do this? Please advise.
Answer Hello Darren. Remove everything from the freezer and then remove the back wall. Once removed, you will see the motor and the screws securing it to the wall. Remove and replace the fan motor in the unit.
Error code ER IF and has neither ice nor water. Otherwise refrigerator works well. I have been told something is wrong with the ice fan or control board, is this right? Please advise.
Answer Hello Jeremy,
There is a service bulletin out on your model number pertaining to the complaint you have. For serial range between 103KR****** and 301KR******, Replace Main PCB and Grille Fan Assemblies. As per the bulletin, the part number for the main board you need to put in is (AP5671401) and the fan & grill assembly to be installed is (AP5672259).
Rattling noise coming from the multi-flow circulating fan (behind cover and filter). Can't seem to find replacement motor/fan. Please help.
Answer Hello William,
The part number for the fan motor in the refrigerator compartment is EAU36179308. You will want to pull the rear cover off and make sure that it is not just ice that has formed around the motor causing it to make the rattling type noise.
