The dryer doesn't have any gas heat when turned on. Does this mean the igniter is bad if the gas heat doesn't come on? If this is not the only reason, what else could be wrong. Could you also give me the part number I would need if I had to get a new one and the cost.
The igniter could be the issue in which you will want to determine if the igniter is glowing or not. If not then you will need to check to make sure that there is power going to the igniter. If there is power going to the igniter but will not glow then replace the igniter. The part number for the igniter is 5318EL3001A.
I have an LG gas dryer. I've taken the dryer apart and notice that the light won't come on. I've replaced the thermostat and no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
Answer Hello Lorena,
We need a bit more information to properly assist you. First we need the model number from the units' I.D. tag. Then it would be helpful if we knew which light does not come on. If it is the interior light you should check the wiring to the door switch. If it is on the control panel we need to know which thermostat you changed and how you accessed to the part to service it. I'm sorry to add to your inconvenience but we do appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
I have an LG gas dryer with model # DLGX7188WM. The cooling light stays lit and it does not generate heat. Any suggestions that you can supply woulbe be appreciated. Thank You
You will want to access the tech sheet for the unit and put the unit into a diagnostic mode and see if there are any stored error codes. This issue may be caused by a faulty thermistor or a faulty control board that is causing the issue. If there are any error codes stored then this will give an indication of what to look for.
