I have an LG gas dryer. I've taken the dryer apart and notice that the light won't come on. I've replaced the thermostat and no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
Answer Hello Lorena,
We need a bit more information to properly assist you. First we need the model number from the units' I.D. tag. Then it would be helpful if we knew which light does not come on. If it is the interior light you should check the wiring to the door switch. If it is on the control panel we need to know which thermostat you changed and how you accessed to the part to service it. I'm sorry to add to your inconvenience but we do appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
I have an LG gas dryer with model # DLGX7188WM. The cooling light stays lit and it does not generate heat. Any suggestions that you can supply woulbe be appreciated. Thank You
You will want to access the tech sheet for the unit and put the unit into a diagnostic mode and see if there are any stored error codes. This issue may be caused by a faulty thermistor or a faulty control board that is causing the issue. If there are any error codes stored then this will give an indication of what to look for.
Dryer will not heat up. Ignitor glows then stops but I dont hear any gas and I have no flame. Checked thermostat sensors and they have continuity. Is the problem with the coil valve? If it is, do I have to replace the whole valve coil assembly or can I just replace the Coils? Thanks
Answer Hello Michael,
You need to check the current draw on the ignitor. If the ignitor is only turning red, this is the issue. When the unit pulls 3.2 to 3.6 amps of current, the ignitor will turn almost white hot. This is enough current to open the gas valve. If the ignitor is turning white hot, the issue could be either the gas valves or the gas valve coils.
