Ice maker is not making ice. Water dispenser works fine. Have toggled the ON/OFF switch and unplugged the fridge but still no ice. A faint sound like the motor is rotating is constantly heard. Poured water into cube tray but did not freeze when left overnight. Also is there a separate ice fan on this unit?
Answer Hello DJ. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Our ice maker makes ice but will not drop the ice into the glass when you push the panel for ice. It crushes the ice even when on full block. this ice stays crushed and stuck in drop cavity
Answer Hello Betty. If the auger motor runs and the ice crushes and comes into the chute, but does not come out, it sounds like the solenoid for the flapper is bad and is not opening the flapper on the unit. Check and see if the solenoid is bad and if so, replace the solenoid on the unit.
Wire harness very short and plug is back bottom. Is there an easy way to plug it in.
Answer N. Cook,
To plug in the icemaker you will need to push in from underneath. There is really no easy way to put the part in.
Many of your answers say to check the fill tube. Where is it?
Answer Hello John. The fill tube is the tube that lets water come into the icemaker inside the freezer. You check and see if it is clogged with ice and if so, thaw it out.
