Many of your answers say to check the fill tube. Where is it?
Answer Hello John. The fill tube is the tube that lets water come into the icemaker inside the freezer. You check and see if it is clogged with ice and if so, thaw it out.
When the water filter in the refrigerator was replaced the ice maker quit working.
You will want to double check to make sure that the filter was pushed all the way up in the assembly. If this does not correct then you will want to check to make sure that the fill tube has not gotten clogged with ice.
There seems to be an electrical problem with the icemaker. The light on the unit does not come on and the unit is dead. Is there an internal breaker or reset button? Thank you.
Answer Hello Richard,
There is not a internal breaker on the icemaker. If the icemaker is inoperative it would either need a new icemaker or control board. Ensure that all wires are connected properly and no loose connections especially at the upper hinge.
Ordered ice maker from you and the fill tube splash are does not ave side shield and water spashes inside ice maker area. Is there a different version? This ice maker doesn't have the same fill are shielding as the original.
Answer Hello Darrell,
There are so many different variations, I doubt the manufacturer can keep up with them all. I always remove the fill funnel and put them on the new assembly. This makes the unit fill properly and causes no issues. If you want, if there's a mineral deposit build-up on the old one, wash it out with hot white vinegar.
Ice machine will not fill with water but dumpimg arm works.
Answer Hello Ken,
I would check to see if the fill tube is frozen. With a frozen fill tube the icemaker will cycle but not put water into icemaker. If the fill tube checks ok then you will want to test the water valve to make sure it is getting 120vac when the icemaker calls for water. If you are getting 120 vac but not getting water then you need to replace water valve. If you are not getting 120 vac then you need to check your icemaker to ensure you the icemaker is sending 120vac to the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
